Today on the blog, Melissa Septein is here to show us her festive front porch!
This year I wanted to change up our front porch decor. I always enjoy the festive red and green colors especially when decorating outside. My daughter and I ventured to Old Time Pottery to check out all their decor for the holidays. They had a huge selection of every type of decor style, theme and color scheme you could dream of. It was hard to not be distracted by all of the amazing decor choices.
I knew I wanted to change up the decor beside our front door. Being from Florida it is hot then we get a lot of rain, so I didn’t want to have my traditional flocked trees that always leave a mess if they are blown over. I decided I wanted some wood signs or decor for the space that wouldn’t be easily blown over. I was so excited when we found the cutest choices of snowmen, Santa, other wooden figures, signs and light up decor for the front porch. I picked out these two cute wood figures that worked perfectly with my red and green decor.
Next, I wanted to add some metal yard stakes to the pots for my plants that are on the front porch. I selected a fun snowman and Santa that matched nicely with the perfect bright colors. These are an easy but inexpensive way to dress up your porch without changing out your plants for seasonal ones.
Our home has a nice size front porch with rocking chairs, I picked up a black and white rug, two cute black and white Joy pillows with festive red and green Holly on them. I loved how it matches perfectly with the figures we selected and the front door mat. I was looking for something for our table between the rocking chairs and found a galvanized metal lantern with candle inside that lights up in a snowflake pattern that has a red bow and greenery. They had tons of fun festive pieces you could use for table decor on a smaller outdoor table. They also have lots of lanterns that you could use to stagger on the front porch or by the door.
I was feeling like the look just wasn’t fully completed so we found two mid-size wreaths and suction cups for the front windows. I grabbed two red bows and some battery-operated twinkle lights to add to the wreaths. That way during the day it all looks festive but at night it really comes to life all lit up. The best part is the lights have a timer which means less work having to turn them on and off every night. Old Time Pottery had all the festive decor as well as the accessories we needed like door hanger for wreaths, suction cups to add the wreaths to the windows, timer battery operated string lights and the cute decorative bows. One stop shopping at its best.
In the end we are super happy with the festive front porch and entryway. It looks beautiful all day and magical at night. Hope you enjoy it and have an amazing Christmas season. Thank you to Old Time Pottery.
