Joanna Keel (@southernsurroundings) shared how she refreshed a corner of her Southern home through color & balance of Old Time Pottery products.
Long time, no chat! Hope everyone is having a good start to 2022! I've got some fun projects going on I can't wait to show you. I'm here today to tell you about a refresh I did on a corner in our family room.
It's a space with lots of windows and natural light that is perfect for reading! I've been stumped on how to decorate it until now. A trip to Old Time Pottery, and now we have a cozy spot to sit and read or just relax!
First, I knew we needed somewhere comfy to sit. I loved this charcoal grey occasional chair. It is the perfect size for this corner. It is comfortable without lacking style. I just had a hard time deciding which one I wanted from Old Time Pottery's huge selection of chairs.
If you're going to be reading, you definitely need a light! Instead of adding a table, I decided on this trendy floor lamp. I love that it is smaller in size and it fits perfectly in this corner. The black with the white shade is timeless and fits with any decor style. Check it out at night. It's even cozier.
After seating and lighting, it was time for decor. Old Time Pottery has the best selection of planters of anywhere. They are very affordable too! All different styles and sizes.
I love the look of this scalloped, white planter! I new my trusty snake plant would look great in it. By the way, if you are looking for a super easy houseplant that you can't kill, a snake plant is it. I've had this one for years and the more I forget about it, the better it does. Ha!
What a cute way to display accessories. Old Time Pottery has so many shelving options for you. If you aren't that into art, try a shelf!
I added a faux fern and a peachy candle also from Old Time Pottery. If you are looking for faux plants, they have a beautiful selection. I've also seen faux plants like this one for much more at other stores. Candlelight really warms up any space.
I almost forgot-I found this peach pillow at Old Time Pottery too. It's a great accent to the grey chair. Now we have a great space to hangout and get a little peace. Well, maybe when the kids move out ;)
